Wholesale pallet condition guide

Condition grading is where most pallet disputes start. These are the five grades we use, what each one honestly means, and who each grade suits.

Reviewed February 2026

We grade at the pallet level, and every unit on the manifest also carries its own condition line. If a pallet mixes grades — a returns pallet containing some sealed cartons, for example — the manifest says so line by line.

New

Factory sealed, unopened retail cartons.

What to expect

  • Factory sealed cartons with intact retail packaging and seals
  • All accessories, chargers and cases as per the manufacturer's kit
  • Full manufacturer warranty as offered by the manufacturer in Australia for genuine stock

Best suited to: Retail shopfronts, online sellers, anyone offering their own returns policy.

New Overstock

Unused surplus stock; cartons may be shelf-worn.

What to expect

  • Unused tools, but cartons may be shelf-worn, scuffed or re-taped
  • Occasional missing outer sleeve or display packaging
  • Stock rotated out of a distributor's warehouse, not out of a customer's hands

Best suited to: Resellers who can discount for packaging condition without discounting the tool.

Clearance

New run-out, superseded or end-of-line stock.

What to expect

  • New and unused run-out, superseded or end-of-line models
  • Current stock levels will not be replenished — what is on the pallet is what exists
  • Occasional older carton artwork or discontinued battery platform variants

Best suited to: Buyers with a market that cares about price more than the latest model number.

Tested Working

Bench tested by our warehouse team; cosmetic wear expected.

What to expect

  • Each unit powered up and function-tested in our warehouse before palletising
  • Cosmetic marks, site dust and scuffing are normal
  • Accessories, cases and batteries are often missing — assume bare tool unless listed

Best suited to: Hire fleets, market traders, site outfitters and second-hand tool shops.

Customer Returns

Untested returns sold as-is; faults expected in a portion of the lot.

What to expect

  • Untested and sold as-is. We do not power these on
  • Opened boxes, missing accessories, and a real proportion of faulty units
  • Occasional wrong item in the box — that is the nature of retail returns

Best suited to: Repairers, parts recovery, and resellers who grade and test their own stock.

Warranty across the grades

Manufacturer warranty is set by the manufacturer and depends on the tool and the grade. Regardless of grade, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law against us as the seller always apply: the pallet must match its description and manifest. Read the refunds and ACL policy.

Condition disputes

Every pallet is photographed wrapped and unwrapped before dispatch, and the manifest is timestamped. If what lands does not match what we listed, tell us within 7 days with photos and we will make it right — refund, replacement or partial credit depending on the shortfall.
